Some auction websites and online retailers currently have hundreds of parts that look like Function7 products. In the several cases, these counterfeit products, which usually come as part of a kit, were accompanied by photocopied instruction sheets that bear the old Function7 logo and company information, in an attempt to pass these inferior products off as official Function7 products.

If a part or kit is up for auction or straight sale at a price that's a fraction of what a new or used Function7 part would typically sell for, chances are it's not a genuine Function7 component. As the old saying goes," If something seems to good to be true, it probably is." The best protection against being cheated or disappointed is to buy your new (or used) Function7 products from an authorized Function7 retailer.

It also appears that Function7 products sold on Alibaba.com are counterfeit and fake versions. Although these versions look identical to Function7 products, they are made of significantly inferior material and are inherently unsafe. Despite what is engraved on these counterfeit products, these originate from a couple of factories in China, and are not "Made in the USA" as marked on them.
