UL is notifying consumers and retailers that the USB Power Adaptors Model A1265 and identified below bear a counterfeit UL Mark for United States and Canada. The Adapters have not been evaluated by UL to the appropriate Standards for Safety and it is unknown if these Adapters comply with the safety requirements for the United States or Canada.
** Note that the Model A1265 with the counterfeit UL Mark is similar to a Model A1265 that is authorized to bear the UL Mark.
The counterfeit Model A1265 for use in Europe has "Apple" incorrectly spelled "Applg.
The counterfeit Model A1265 for use in the US and Canada has "Designed" incorrectly spelled "Designd".
On the counterfeit product (Model A1265 with blade configuration for use in US and Canada) the imprinting reads:
Designd by Apple in California (Designed is incorrectly spelled)
Model No.: A1265 Made in China

The counterfeit Model A1265 USB power adapters are marked "Designed Abble in California" or "Designed by China in California," which is different than the authorized model which is marked "Designed by Apple in California."
