February 15, 2013: The following is a notification from UL to consumers and retailers that the Li-ion Batteries models identified bear a counterfeit UL Listing Mark for the United States.
These Li-ion Batteries have not been evaluated by UL to the UL Standard for Safety and it is unknown if they comply with the any safety requirements.
Name of Product: Li-ion Batteries, Models LP-E6, NP-FW50 and NP-FW500H. This product is known to have been sold by independent online third-party retailers on amazon.com. The product may have also been sold by other retailers.
Identification: The products bear a counterfeit UL Mark and the following:
ANKER
Extend limits (UL in Circle)
For LP-E6 / NP-FW50 / NP-FM500H
Made in China
